If your answer isn’t here, ask a coordinator — they know the routes firsthand.
How do I reserve a seat in a group?
Send a request or give us a call. A coordinator will confirm availability and send the contract and program. Your seat is held once we receive a 30% deposit; the balance is due 45 days before departure. You can pay by card, by payment link or by bank transfer.
What are the cancellation and refund terms?
If you cancel more than 60 days before departure, we refund everything except 5% for bookings already paid. Between 60 and 30 days we refund 50%; later than 30 days, only what we can recover from our partners. If we cancel a trip, you get a full refund or a new date of your choice.
Can I travel solo?
Of course — nearly a third of our travelers come on their own. We pair you with a roommate of the same gender at no extra cost. If you’d like a private room, the supplement is about 18% of the trip price.
Do you help with flights and visas?
Flights to the starting point aren’t included, but your coordinator will find convenient flights for the group dates and suggest connections. For visas we send a list of documents and the application steps, and we help fill in the forms for Japan and Canada.
How fit do I need to be?
Every route has a difficulty level. “Easy” suits almost everyone: walks of up to 5 miles on gentle ground. “Moderate” means up to 7 miles, sometimes with climbing. “Active” is Alaska and Patagonia: long days on foot that are worth training for. We send a training plan two months before departure.
Can I bring my children?
On Easy and Moderate routes from age eight, on Svalbard from twelve, and in Alaska and Patagonia from sixteen. Children under twelve get 10% off. For families with young kids, a private trip at your own pace usually works better.
What happens if the weather disrupts the program?
Routes where the weather decides a lot have a spare day built in. If the floatplane can’t fly or the fjord can’t be entered, the guide offers an equal alternative. If a paid excursion is canceled, we refund it within two weeks of the trip.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes, medical insurance is required on every route. For Svalbard, Alaska and Patagonia you’ll need evacuation and adventure-activity cover. We’ll suggest policies with the right options and check yours before you go.
